Community Manager - TEMP

Freelance

We're seeking a skilled freelance Community Manager to support high-profile theatrical and streaming campaigns on a project-by-project basis. This role is for someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of entertainment marketing, understands fan culture, and knows how to turn casual followers into passionate brand advocates.

You'll manage the day-to-day social presence for our clients: posting content, maintaining editorial calendars, monitoring conversations in real-time, engaging authentically with fans, identifying content opportunities, and escalating insights to our creative and strategy teams.

What You'll Do

  • Content Calendar Management: Own and maintain social media editorial calendars across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook) for theatrical releases, streaming series, and studio brands; ensure timely posting and alignment with campaign strategy
  • Content Publishing & Scheduling: Schedule and publish posts, coordinate with creative teams to ensure assets are optimized for each platform
  • Real-Time Community Monitoring & Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, mentions, and conversations across all social platforms; maintain consistent presence during key campaign moments
  • Brand Voice Management: Serve as the voice of our clients online, maintaining tone, personality, and brand guidelines while building genuine connections with fans
  • Trend & Opportunity Identification: Spot emerging trends, viral moments, fan content, and conversation opportunities that could inform content creation or campaign pivots
  • Crisis Monitoring & Escalation: Identify potential issues, negative sentiment shifts, or crisis situations and escalate appropriately to the Director of Social and account leadership
  • Content Flagging & Collaboration: Surface high-performing UGC, memes, fan art, and creator content that could be leveraged for campaigns or amplified through official channels; provide recommendations on reactive content opportunities
  • Reporting & Insights: Track engagement patterns, sentiment trends, and community feedback; contribute to weekly reporting and campaign debriefs with actionable insights
  • Campaign Activation Support: Participate in live activations, premiere events, talent appearances, and other time-sensitive campaign moments requiring real-time community response and content posting

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of community management experience, preferably in entertainment, media, or agency environments with demonstrated experience managing content calendars and publishing workflows
  • Deep entertainment industry knowledge: You understand fan culture, theatrical marketing cycles, streaming release strategies, and how audiences engage with film/TV content
  • Platform expertise: Native fluency across major social platforms with an understanding of each platform's community norms, features, best practices, and posting specifications
  • Exceptional written communication skills: You can write in different brand voices, adapt tone for various audiences, and maintain authenticity while adhering to guidelines
  • Trend awareness: You're chronically online (in the best way): you know what's happening in pop culture, social media, memes, and internet culture before it hits the mainstream
  • Project management skills: Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, meet tight deadlines during campaign crunch times, and keep calendars organized
  • Availability for non-traditional hours: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours during major releases, premieres, and campaign peaks (compensated accordingly)
  • Passion for storytelling: You genuinely love movies, TV, and internet culture
